Sun Mark Ltd, in Greenford, Middlesex (UB6 8UH), required sustainable and cost efficient energy solutions to facilitate its operations. As energy prices continued to rise and more and more people wanted to reduce carbon, the business sought to future-proof its facility, reduce its energy expenses, and put action with visible impact on its environmental obligations

Solar4Good designed and installed a 51.6 kWp solar PV system to serve the energy demands of the site, as well as, to minimize grid dependency. The solution was designed in such a way that it maximised the roof space and ensured long-term performance, minimising interference with day-to-day operations.

The technical scope included:

  • 120 × TRINA Vertex S 430W solar panels (51.6 kWp total capacity)
  • 1 × Solis 50kW 3-Phase Inverter
  • Roof Pitch: 5° (South facing)
  • Flat roof mounting system designed for durability and safety
  • Total Project Cost: £54,000

Solar4Good devised and implemented a complete end-to-end service, starting with budgeting, planning and design up to installation and commissioning.

Key aspects included:

  • Optimised Layout: Panels are installed to maximise the south-facing roof so that the generation of energy becomes efficient.
  • High-quality Material: TRINA Vertex S high-efficiency panels and a Solis 50kW inverter to ensure long-term security.
  • Future-Ready Design: System that will be scalable to a possible integration of the batteries in the future.
  • Safety/ Compliance: 100 per cent compliant with the electrical and building statutes in the UK, providing structural stability and tranquility.

The solar PV system is now producing between 55,000- 58,000 kWh of energy per year, which is over 40 percent self-sufficient to the business.Environmental Impact:

  • Annual CO₂ savings: ~12,000 – 13,000 kg
  • Lifetime CO₂ offset: ~300,000 – 320,000 kg
  • Equivalent to planting 12,000 – 13,000 trees over the system’s lifetime

Financial Impact:

  • System cost: £54,000
  • Lifetime energy savings (25 years): £240,000 – £260,000 £255,000
  • Average yearly savings: £9,600 – £10,400
  • ROI / Payback period: 5 – 5.5 years

Client Benefits:

  • Significant protection against rising UK energy tariffs
  • Strong environmental contribution towards corporate sustainability goals
  • Increased business resilience and reduced operational costs
  • Enhanced reputation with customers and stakeholders through visible green commitment
